2. Providing the website and access data
When you visit the website, technically necessary connection data is transmitted to the hosting provider. This includes, in particular, your IP address, date and time, the page or file requested, the volume of data transferred, status messages, information about your browser and operating system, and, where applicable, the previously visited page (referrer).
Hosting is provided through united-domains. The hosting provider processes this data to deliver the website, analyse errors and maintain secure operation. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is in a secure, functioning website. An IP address cannot be assumed to be anonymous.
Log data may be retained only for as long as necessary for the relevant operational and security purpose. In the event of specific security incidents, longer retention may be necessary for investigation and legal action.
3. Contact by email
If you write to me, your email address, the content of your message and any information you voluntarily provide are processed to deal with your enquiry. Recipients also include the mail providers used to deliver email. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR or, for contract-related enquiries, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. The legitimate interest is in answering your message and keeping a traceable record of how it is handled.
Correspondence is deleted once the matter has been dealt with and there is no further reason to retain it. Statutory retention obligations and the protection of legitimate legal claims remain unaffected. Please do not send particularly sensitive information by unencrypted email.
4. Cookies and language selection
Polylang is used to display this website in several languages. The “pll_language” cookie stores the code of the language last used (German, Norwegian or English), so that the website can be displayed in that language on a return visit. It is stored on this domain and lasts for one year. It contains no individual visitor identifier and is not used for visitor statistics or advertising.
Storage serves to provide language selection; the legal basis for the necessary access to your device is section 25(2)(2) TDDDG. Where personal data is processed, the basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is in a user-friendly multilingual website. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Without this cookie, your language selection may not be remembered for later visits.
Complianz is disabled; no consent banner is currently used. You can delete previously stored consent cookies in your browser settings.
5. Visitor statistics
Visitor statistics using Burst Statistics were disabled on 22 October 2026. No new visitor statistics have been collected through this plugin since then. Previously stored statistical data remains in the website database until it is deleted. You can delete statistical cookies already stored in your browser through its settings.
6. Comments and profile pictures
Comments are disabled for existing pages and posts and for new posts. No public commenting facility is offered. Comment cookies and the display of avatars through Gravatar are disabled.
Existing comments, including entries in the bin and spam folder, were permanently deleted from the live website database on 22 October 2026. Earlier backups may still contain comment and moderation data. These backups are not made publicly available.
7. Technical protection and backups
This website is transmitted over HTTPS. Backups are created with Duplicator to allow recovery after technical failures. They contain website files and the database and may therefore also include stored contact or comment data. They are not published on the website. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is in safeguarding the website and making it recoverable. Backups are retained only for as long as needed for this purpose.
8. Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you have rights of access (Article 15 GDPR), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction of processing (Article 18) and data portability (Article 20). You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Right to object: Where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR).
For enquiries, please use the contact details above. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the place of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. In North Rhine-Westphalia, this is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia: www.ldi.nrw.de.
