In the middle

of life

An educator after all!
I did not want to be a schoolteacher. An educator I became
all the same. Adults may learn more slowly, but they usually do so willingly and are motivated. Teaching them, accompanying them – it is a pleasure. I have been doing it for almost 20 years now. Time flies.

Volkshochschule
People, university, school: the three parts of the German name, none of which quite fits. Not any more. A dusty image. At first. These days there are plenty of approaches that give cause for hope.

A job that motivates me every day. More varied than almost any other. As wide-ranging as usually only the self-employed get to experience.

And it pays the bills reliably too.

Together, not alone!

Society is changing. And I am grateful that it is happening in my lifetime, at least here. Hand in hand, man and man, a kiss in the café on the market square – and hardly anyone turns to look. No more bars where you have to ring a bell to get in, hardly any fear at the station. We fight for that. But I am grateful for it too!

Living together

A partnership for life has, after all, been a reality for almost two decades. And yet, as far as the future is concerned, it is only a dream. Who knows how two people will develop?
